ABOUT

IN MY COLOUR ERA.

I’m Alice, the creative mind behind Colour Theory Clothing. I started my colour journey in 2023 with one goal in mind - to keep our planet as colourful as your wardrobe!

Colour Theory is all about designing fun, colourful pieces that don’t just look good but are kind on the planet. Every piece is a labour of love, tried and tested to ensure you get a mood boost with every wear!

Working from my studio in Adelaide, Australia, I make each piece to order. No big factories, no production lines - just me, my trusty machines. This means your order will take a little longer to arrive but trust me, it’s worth the wait!

Much love, Alice xx

FABRIC

We only work with the most sustainable fabrics we can get our hands on! Organic fibres, regenerated materials, recycled fibres and rescued deadstock fabrics. Every choice is intentional, so your clothes feel incredible to wear and are gentle on the planet.

CHERRY BUBBLEGUM FABRIC

The Cherry Bubblegum collection is made from 56% Cotton (BCI), 37% Modal (LENZING™) & 7% Spandex. The fabric has the below global certifications:

Origin: South Korea

What is Modal?

Modal is made from the pulp of beech trees. It’s silky smooth, breathable and naturally moisture-wicking. It feels amazing to wear all day long. Plus, it’s stronger than cotton and resists shrinking or pilling, which means your clothes last longer and stay looking fresh. Better for you, better for the planet.

  • LENZING™ TENCEL™

🌱 From sustainably sourced wood pulp
    ♻️ Closed-loop production (reuses 99% of water & solvents)
    💦 Breathable, buttery soft & skin-friendly
🌏 Biodegradable at end of life

  • BETTER COTTON INITIATIVE (BCI)

🌱 World’s largest cotton sustainability program
🤝 Fair pay + safer conditions for farmers
    💧 Healthier soil & water
    🚫 Fewer harmful chemicals

DEADSTOCK FABRIC

What’s deadstock fabric?
Deadstock fabric is the fabric that almost didn’t make it. It’s leftover material from other fashion brands, companies or mills – the fabric that would’ve ended up in landfill because it was over-ordered or unused. By giving it a new purpose, I’m cutting down on waste and giving perfectly good fabric a new life!

While the exact origins of some deadstock fabrics can be unknown, I carefully source my fabrics from trusted Australian suppliers who work with designers and mills to ensure the materials are of the highest quality. It's a way to give these fabrics a second chance, reducing waste and supporting sustainable practices all at once!

SUSTAINABILITY

  • PRODUCTION

Colour Theory Clothing is committed to keeping the planet beautiful for years to come! Every piece is made to order, which means we only make what is needed. This approach reduces overproduction and waste compared to mass production. Each garment is designed to last, encouraging a slower way of dressing: buy less, choose well, and make it last.

  • ZERO WASTE

Do you want to know the coolest thing about our packaging? The garment tags and thank-you cards are embedded with mixed flower seeds! It’s a zero-waste way to say thank you! Every Australian order receives the gift of flowers to plant and enjoy. For international orders, recycled card is used to keep packaging as planet-friendly as possible.

  • PACKAGING

Our packaging may look and feel like plastic, but it’s not. Not even close! Every order is sent in a home-compostable satchel with a biodegradable shipping label (no need to peel it off). Once you’re done, simply pop the packaging into your compost or green bin, where it will break down into healthy food for the Earth.

  • SHIPPING

Shipping can take a toll on the environment, which is why we partner with Sendle for regular orders when possible. Sendle has been 100% carbon neutral from day one. They calculate the footprint of every shipment and offset it through environmental projects around the world.
